Spain (Away 2010)

I have not really changed my opinion. I would love to give this shirt a perfect 10, but the font is just not right. I still think that this is the best Spain jerseys ever (not only away but also including home jerseys) and that it is one of the best jerseys worn at the 2010 World Cup! That it was actually worn on the day of the final in Johannesburg is just an added bonus. Lastly, I updated the post with not only the two version in which this jersey was worn in South Africa (one all blue, one blue with white) but also added a picture of me wearing my Iniesta jersey, which to this day is one of my favorite shirts. Even my wife loves me wearing it!

My Soccer Universe

In 2010 Spain was the best team in the world and was hoping to win its first ever World Cup. On the occasion, Adidas released one of the best away shirts in a long time.

At first I thought the shirt is your typical all-black design – beautiful but we have seen that one before. But upon closer inspection it was actually in navy blue making it not only stand out, but also tied in nicely with the meanwhile familiar coloring scheme that Adidas introduced for Spain in the early 90s: red and navy blue with yellow accents. In addition, Spain wore this jersey at the World Cup at three occasions: against Chile, Paraguay and most famously against the Netherlands in the final, when Andres Iniesta scored the winning goal in overtime (I do own the Iniesta version of this jersey).
