Argentina (Away 2011-13)

The 1986 did not last long and a year later, Adidas was back with another dark blue shirt with a modern update, which I covered already last year. Just for completeness’ sake, here is the detailed drawing:

My Soccer Universe

I admit it: I am a sucker for the Argentinian away jersey, especially when it is dark blue. If it manages to incorporate the Argentinian colors well, this is just hard to beat. Fortunately, the current version is dark blue, so we should get a nice jersey. Let’s have a look.

Well, it is dark blue, but features very bold accents. Presumably mimicking the Argentinian flag, the front features a bold light blue horizontal stripe, followed by a much thinner white one and finally an even thinner light blue one. In addition the two light blue stripes are fading right to left (from the player’s view). The bold stripe houses the number (it actually just fits in it), then the Adidas logo and finally (towards the end of the fade) the AFA crest.
