Borussia Dortmund (Home 2013/14)

Well, I have covered all the kits we have seen from the teams in the second round so far, but that does not mean I have covered all the kits from these teams. So, before moving on to another topic in Jersey World, I want to get the four missing kits out of the way. Let’s start with the most prominent one: Borussia Dortmund’s home kit for the Bundesliga campaign:

This shirt is a mainly yellow shirt with some black accents and a pink sponsor. The collar is much like the one for the Olympiacos home jersey with a weird yellow inset in an otherwise simple black V-neck collar. Other than that there is some black striping on the sides which occurs at the underarms and towards the bottom of the jersey. The sleeves also feature black rings. And that’s pretty much it with the features. Well, as usual there are three Puma’s (two on the sleeves one on the chest). Everything on the front of the shirt is well arranged, but we can debate the sponsor’s color forever.

The back is also all yellow, but there is a black trapezoid just below the collar. A feature that I – oddly enough – actually like. It gives the back some structure. We can however debate the style of the BVB inscription there which does not match the (horrendous) font for names and numbers. As with all Bundesliga teams, the team’s name (in this case a simple Dortmund) is also featured on the back.

Very simple jersey, maybe too simple, that has a weird looking collar. It looks modern, but I prefer the more classic look of the Champions League home jersey.
